When I surfing, I found this usefull article about expensive AdWords and AdSense keywords. Here is the article

This is useful for both Google advertisers and publishers, both parts should know that some keywords can get to 15.00 - 16.00$ per click. This is a keywords list related to Online Degrees, there are other ‘expensive topics’ also, I am sure this isn’t the most expensive one but have a look at these keywords prices.

These high prices mean that advertiser pay good money for getting visitors interested in these topics and also means that someone that has a site containing these keywords will get good money from any existent Google ads on his page.

Recently we have seen a lot of adsense sites and related products springing up everywhere on the web. From how to build adsense sites fast to "tested and tried adsense secrets" ebooks. Also, there are software for building thousands of adsense sites in record time using free-reprint articles.

However, nobody is telling you how to make these adsense sites profitable. Well I want to do that in this article.

Firstly, lets look at the obstacle you have to overcome before you can make your adsense sites profitable.

1.how to build hundreds of content sites in a very short amount of time.

2.how to name your sites and not attract the attention of the search engines.

3.how to host your adsense sites and not attract the special attention of the search engines.

4.New sites have to over come the Google sandbox phenemenon. You have to wait for your new adsense sites to be indexed, listed

and appear in Google serps for you to even think of earning money from the sites. This could take anywhere from 3 to 4 months.

5.How do you get your sites indexed in the first place?. Submitting your sites using the Google submission page is outdated.

Most major search engines now crawl sites from incoming links found in other sites. So how do you get links on other sites pointing to your sites.

6.How do you identify profitable keywords that you will use to build your sites?. You need high demand keywords to input in your sites to be able to generate the kind of clicks on your adsense ads that will bring in substancial amount of adsense revenue.

7.How do you make your new profitable keywords sites compete with the established sites?. Remember that profitable keywords are high demand keywords therefore, very hard to rank high in search engines.

8.How do you link your various sites so that you don't get into trouble with the searh engines?.

9.How do you use reprinted articles in your thousands of sites so that it does not look like everyother Dick and Harry's site and reduce the relevance of your sites?.

These are very important questions you will have to address before you can start dreaming of hugh adsense earnings fast. However, you can go the slow route and build good, unique content sites that will last longer and earn you revenue for long time even after adsense craze has died down. But this will take you years to do.

Now lets look at how you can build these profitable adsense sites fast. How you can overcome all the obstacles listed above.

This is by no means a simple and easy tasks I tell you. But the reward is money, money and plent of adsense money. You will also need some tools that will make the job easier. These tools will be shown to you at the bottom of this article.

Firstly, you need a software that can build hundreds of your adsense sites fast using reprinted articles. The software should be able to fetch reprinted articles from article sites, format these articles and create pages using your own templates. It is important you use your own template because you don't want to look like everyother person using the same articles.

However, if you don't want to use other peoples articles on your site, you can write them yourself (herculean tasks indeed if you have to build hundreds of sites), or you can hire ghost writers at www.elance.com to write these articles at very reasonable rates. There is one ebook that teaches how to hire ghost writers easily and at cheap rates. This is a better option than using articles from article sites. These articles are not keyword rich, their keyword densities are very poor and they are not well optimized for good seach engine ranking. Check at the bottom of this article for where to get the software and ebook.

The domain names for your sites should be your main keyword for that site. You are going to optimize each page using one keyword. You want the adsense ads to recognize your page for that one keyword so tha it delivers ads based on that one keyword. Use hyphen for your domain names. Register your domain names for at least 2 years so that you do not raise a red flag at Google.

Host your sites on different hosts servers. This will aid you in your link structure. You are going to link your various sites in such a way that some sites receive many links than others. The ones with hundreds of incoming links are the money makers. There are very cheap web host. Do a search for "$1.99 hosting" and you will get them. You can check for how long they have been in the hosting business by gong to http://www.archive.org

There is the Google sandbox phenemenon. There is nothing you can do about that. Wait it out. Use the waiting time to write articles for your different sites, submitting your sites to directories, (here is a comprehensive list of article submission sites at, www.ebizstartups.com/article-submission-sites.html), doing reciprocal linking, buying links(if you can) doing seo for your sites etc.

How do you identify profitable keywords? you can subscribe to some membership sites that research and offer these high demand ( profitable ) keywords to their members. Or if you want to do the research yourself, go to www.pixelfast.com/overture - ( a site that helps you see what folks are paying for ads on Overture ).

Armed with your high demand keywords, you then build not too many web sites with these keywords. These sites will be your money makers. But remember that it is difficult ranking high for these keywords at the free search engines. so you will build hundreds of sites with low demand keywords that are related to your high demand keywords and send traffic to your high demand keyword sites from your low demand keyword sites.

When you write articles, let the link in your resource box point to your low demand keywords sites. So that you can build link popularity fast and then link to your high demand keywords sites from your low demand keywords sites. This way you have hundreds of links pointing to your few high demand keywords sites. So you archieve two things by doing so. One , you send
traffic to your high demand keywords site and two, you build the link popularity of your high demand keyword sites. This will enable these high demand keywords sites compete favorably with other sites at the free search engines.

To cap it all.

What you are doing is basically building sites that will funel traffic as well as one way links to your high demand keyword sites using some very good resources for building your sites fast and obtaining the latest profitable keywords fast. Note that there are others ways to do this. But this is the safest way without getting your websites banned from the search engines

A lot of people would like to know the success AdSense money formula. The simple formula below is one fundamental formula that you should know.

Money = sum ( [Price Per Click] X [Number of Click] )

Logically speaking, if you want to make more money, you have to either increase the number of clicks or the price per click. If you do one or the other you can make more money from the program.
Make More AdSense Money By Boosting the Number Of Click

Increase the number of clicks on your ads is the most obvious strategy that will make more money for you. There are two ways you can boost the number of click:

1. Getting more traffic for your web site,
2. Make your ads more clickable and position them at the right place.

Getting traffic takes time and efforts. It‘s also a lot of hard work. There are several techniques that you can use to generate more traffic to your web site and hence make more AdSense money. These techniques are:

* Submit your web site to search engine and optimize your web site for search engine.
* Increase link popularity by link exchange, article marketing, directory submission and press release.
* Paid Advertising through classified advertising, banner advertising or search engine advertising.
* Participate in forums/groups related to the content of your web site.
* Add comments to other blogs.

Making your ads more clickable is another way to increase your earnings. It is relatively easy to do because you can adjust your ad format almost immediately. You can do the following adjustments to your ad format to improve your click through rate (CTR):

* Make them more noticeable by positioning your AdSense ads on top of your AdSense page.
* Google states that the most effective ad formats are 336×280 larger rectangle, the 300×250 inline rectangle, and the 160×600 wide skyscraper. However you should choose the best ad format that works for your web site. This requires tracking and testing.
* Create a custom palette that best suites your web site. In general, you can follow the following settings:
o Border color : no border or background color of your website
o Background color : background color of your website
o Link color : color of your links
o URL color : black
o Text color : black or color of your main content

Make More AdSense Money by Targeting the Higher-Paying Keywords

You can create unique, relevant and quality contents that target at the higher-paying keywords to increase your average price per click (CPC). Higher CPC means that you can make more money even the CTR remains unchanged. You should find out which keyword variations for a topic pay more. Often the more specialized variations and phrases pay more than the generic terms.

You can increase your CPC by reducing the occurrence of lower-paying ads. You can use AdSense competitive filter mechanism to filter out the ads that you don’t want to be shown on your web site. It is suggested by others that showing fewer ads on a page will result in higher-paying ads displayed on your web site. A lot of publishers report that they make more Adsense money if they remove ads completely from pages with few or no clicks. Again you have to test whether this strategy works in favor of you or not.

As you can see, it involves a lot of hard work if you want to make extra Google AdSense money. You need to put in your time and effort to make it happen.

New Adsense users seem to get very worried about the eCPM figure varying for their sites or blogs. Usually all this worry about effective Cost per Thousand page impressions ( which is what eCPM is) is completely unnecessary and pointless - in particular when you are just starting out with your blog or website with Adsense on it.

Let see what eCPM actually is. eCPM is basically just a statistical tool that shows you what your effective earnings are per 1000 impressions. It does this based on your current rate of earning and assumes that this is typical. The result of this is that eCPM can vary quite a lot over time.

Also when the numbers of page impressions and the numbers of clicks and amount of earnings are relatively small these fluctuations tend to be wilder - this is just a consequence of the way this statistic works and is not something you should waste time worrying about.

Lets imagine that you have achieved 100 page impressions. You have earned 10 cents for these 100 impressions. This gives earnings per 1000 impressions (eCPM) of $1. eCPM =(earnings *100)/1000 (If you had 200 page impressions with 10c earnings then eCPM would be 50c.)

Note: That equation works if you are quoting earnings in cents ie 10c etc. If you are using earnings in dollars then its simply earnings/1000.

So each page impression that shows up new in your AdSense report is going to change your eCPM figure - the figure will fluctuate as page impressions and clicks come in at a varying rate over time. So short term variation to eCPM is not something to go grey haired about.

Over longer periods of time it can be worth thinking about the eCPM figure because it is more stable and reliable and is then telling you something about the effective earning capacity of those pages in relation to the amount of traffic that they get.

If you are still unclear then leave a comment below and I will try to help.

I like to introduce you a new text link broker that you can use to sell text links on your site and blog. It is called BackLinks.com. The link services offered by Backlinks.com are very similar to Text-Link-Ads.com. They offer an online marketplace where links buyers can find links sellers to order text link ads.

As a blogger or webmaster, you can register for a publisher account on Backlinks.com and start making money by selling text link ads on your site. You may sell text links on any web pages and the page the can help you earn most money is your homepage. How much money you can sell for each text link will be determined by the Pagerank of your pages. Backlinks.com will place your site or blog into their database and promote it to the interested advertisers. So, there is no marketing effort needed on your part to get a text link sold.

Backlinks.com also has an affiliate program that pays you $25 for each new publisher referred by you that sells at least 1 text link through Backlinks. If you worry that selling text links could negatively affect your Google Pagerank or get penalized by Google, then you may consider joining their affiliate program.

Google Adsense offering a new payment method for some countries. Publishers who located in Argentina, Chile, China (Mainland), Colombia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, or Romania, may change the payment method to Western Union Quick Cash. Western Union is a new form of payment that lets publisher receive the AdSense payments in cash using the worldwide Western Union money transfer service. According to Google AdSense normal payment schedule, payments for publishers will be available for pickup at the local Western Union agent the day after they are issued.

AdSense payments with Western Union is totally free. With this new payment method, publishers will no longer need to wait for a check to arrive in the postal mail. This new payment method can also cut down on bank fees and long clearing times associated with depositing checks.
However, I wonder why Google didn’t make this payment method for worldwide. If they really care about their publisher, they should make it available worldwide.

To exchange the payment method, publisher should keep these important points in mind:

  • Western Union Quick Cash is only available in Argentina, Chile, China (Mainland), Colombia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, and Romania as mentioned above.
  • Unfortunately, Google doesn’t support this payment method for business account. This new payment method is currently only available to individual payee names.
  • To pick up the payment, publisher will need to bring the government-issued ID that will be used to validate the payee name in adsense with the ID.
  • The payments must be picked up within 35 days of issuance or they will expire. If this case happened, a payment hold will be placed on AdSense account and the payment will be credited back to publisher’s account.
  • All payments will be made in US dollars, but they may be picked up in your local currency, depending on local Western Union agent that being used by publishers

So, to begin receiving AdSense payments by Western Union Quick Cash, publishers just follow these instructions. What are you waiting for?

  • If you are not familiar with Google Adsense you should consider looking into the many features that it offers. Google Adsense is relatively new to the internet world, but it has proven to be a very effective tool that may even be able to make you some money. There are people who make a decent chunk of change every month from using Google Adsense, go to www.youradsenseprofits.com Making money from adsense is not very difficult. The first thing that you will need to do is open an account. You can do this by accessing the Google Adsense website. You will then have to supply your contact information as well as the website that you want to have your ads placed on. After you are approved you will be able to get started. Google will send targeted ads to your site. So for example, if you are running a site on how to make money on line, they will send ads that correspond with that subject. Making money from adsense is not a difficult concept either. The main thing to remember is that you will make money on how many times your visitors click on the ads that are displayed on your site.

Making money from adsense is much easier if you have a lot of traffic. Because obviously, if nobody is visiting your site nobody can click on your ads. Adsense for blog users has become very popular over the past few months. Blog owners have found that they can make a lot of money by placing these ads on their site. This is especially true for blogs that get a lot of traffic. If you are skeptical about making money from adsense you are not alone. There are many people that feel that this program is too good to be true. But in all actuality there is not much to it at all. You never have to pay to use the service, and you will be sent payment every month. Many people feel that making money from adsense will be difficult because they do not have enough traffic; and these people are right. Can visit to www.adsense-dollar-factory.com if making money from adsense is what you are after you will need to have a good marketing campaign in place. This way as your site begins to get more hits, you will also begin to make more money through adsense. Making money from adsense is a viable opportunity if you put your mind to it. There are many people who have used this system to their advantage, and are cashing in on it. Making sure you increase your overall traffic is the best way to ensure that you give yourself the best chance of making money from adsense.

If you are in Internet marketing or have been reading the ads all over the Internet about how to make money from your website you can't have missed all the talk of AdSense. This is one of Google's main revenue generators and over the few years it has been around has made quite a few early adopters a lot of money.

Google makes a percentage of the cost of the ads and the website owner where the ads show up makes the remaining percentage. The AdSense ads are actually the ads placed through Google's AdWords Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising program.

Unfortunately as with all good things it seems, the money making potential seems to have diminished for the majority of those trying to make a go of AdSense as a viable money maker. That is not to say you can't make money off the AdSense program, it's just not as easy as it apparently was. Unfortunately I was not one of those who made good money off AdSense ads.

Regardless of all the ads promoting really big money from AdSense and the fact that there are still people collecting big profits from it, let's look at it through the eyes of someone just getting into the program in earnest. Someone like many of us that do not have a large source of traffic, or maybe even no traffic to sites we want to add AdSense to. In many cases we might have sites made specifically to be monetized with AdSense. Is it worthwhile to have sites specifically designed to make its income from AdSense ads ? I say sites because it is not logical to think someone with a site that does not yet have a huge amount of traffic to believe they can make lots of money from a single site with AdSense on it.

Not going into details, the Google AdSense program is where a website owner has joined the AdSense program and allows Google to place AdSense ads on their website. When a visitor to the website clicks on an AdSense ad the website owner makes a few cents to many dollars from that click. How much you make is dependent on several factors such as the market the ad is trying to capture clicks from, the efficiency of the ad, the keywords the ad is focusing on and other factors. Certain types of ads almost always pay more per click than others. Insurance, loans, and finance ads pay a lot more than an ad for garden tools or gift baskets or paper plates, etc. would pay.

    Is AdSense Worthwhile for Beginners?

So the question, can beginners make money with AdSense sites cannot be answered yet with any accuracy from my results so far. On the surface it appears the answer is no, not if following my route .Only if extraordinary amounts of traffic can be obtained does it look like my sites will make any decent money from AdSense. Probably another, a better approach, will be necessary and a lot more pages with AdSense ads on it will be required to be able to make any significant money. I suspect I will need at least 50 to 100, or more, articles per site to have a fair chance of creating a small part-time equivalent income from the sites.

If you consider an average cost of six dollars for an article, and that is a very low cost for a new article, and still the same five articles a month, with just half the estimated ten dollars monthly miscellaneous costs being only five dollars, the thirty-five dollar monthly cost per site still is difficult to conceive making even that much from the poor results experienced so far. Only time will tell whether the effort will be worthwhile.

I am already changing my html sites so they will be easier and faster to add the new articles. Unfortunately that may cause me to effectively start over with my AdSense earnings since the links will be different and any pages already indexed will have to be re-indexed again since I am changing the sites little by little to php sites. I did something similar several months ago to a single larger site and even months later over 500 of those original pages were still indexed even though they had been off the site for many months.

As adsense becomes the most popular publisher program for Price per Click advertising, flaws and disadvantages still exist. Since its inception advertisers have chosen to advertise in search because they felt that visitors would be less targeted. This is a genuine concern and one that makes perfect sense. If you are visiting a website, and notice an advert then the chances are you are not particularly concentrating on its content.

Adsense has also become so popular that people can distinguish them from other adverts. Therefore people may choose to ignore them without even paying them a thought. This has been a hot topic discussed by Bloggers and one that could contain a lot of truth. Many have blamed Google for this, and their decision to include text that says “ads by Google” beneath the advert.

Many publishers also fail to ever gain the revenues they anticipated when starting the program. Those only gaining 30 – 40 visitors a day to their website would be unlikely to earn even one dollar a day. Many advertisers talk of rates such as 1.5%- 5% for traffic to click conversion, whilst only gaining around $0.10 per click. The maths doesn’t work out great, but you can hardly blame advertisers or Google if you are not bringing enough traffic. The key is to bring targeted traffic to your website that are likely to click on adverts, however it is said that it may be easier on other programs which allow figures such as 75% share of advertising revenues for publishers.

Another disadvantage in adsense is that it has almost become tacky. Its appearance on websites that generally appear to be designed in a DIY fashion has lead people to associate them inextricably . This can only be tackled through adsense evolving to be more attractive to the bigger brands, whilst those who currently use adsense are restricted.

Google Adsense also has to tackle the issue of click fraud which is anticipated to count for over 15% of click through rate in content. This has meant that advertiser’s who have been particularly affected, have moved away to other programs or have restricted their advertising to search.

This has meant that there is less competition in content and therefore smaller revenues for publishers. Publisher’s who previously had high yielding ads, are now having to alter their content to ensure they get any adverts at all. This has largely been the fault of the publishers themselves however the issue is one that; if not addressed could bring adsense to its knees.

Google Adsense also has the disadvantage of not paying enough for their search program. Other similar programs pay higher rates, and if publishers decide to go elsewhere then problems will occur for advertisers and publishers alike. Although Google fail to pay enough for search another major problem with Adsense is that it does not have a powerful database of graphic adverts. Many advertisers prefer showing graphically drive advertisements, however this has yet to materialize. As several other programs exist for PPC graphic distribution problems could occur.

Whilst this may not be a problem for all publishers, many complain that the adverts within their site do not change, so their repeat visitors fail to see fresh adverts so therefore fail to visit them .This is a problem which could be addressed through making adverts rotate. However if adverts rotate then how will that be linked with advertisers paying a rate per click? These are all problems which Google has to address to ensure that Adsense remains the market leader.

Adwords on the other hand also has major advantages, and remains the best in the market. It’s CPC rates can be chosen by the advertisers so that even when they feel that they are not getting the results they expect they can lower their prices whilst still using the service.

Whilst many issues remain with adsense the program still remains the most popular amongst publishers, whilst Google Adwords remains the most popular amongst advertisers; with a database of over 140,000 Adwords will remain on top for the time to come

The Google AdSense Blog Program is a fast and absolutely easy way for people with websites of all types and sizes to put up and display relevant Google ads on the content pages of their site and earn money.

This article will discuss the basics of the Google Adsense blog program plus show you how to find the top paying Adsense keywords for your blog. Google AdSense gives you the ability to earn advertising revenue from every single page on your website-with a minimal investment of your time So what kind of ads do you have to put up? That's the good part-you don't have to decide. Google does it for you. AdSense always delivers relevant ads that are precisely targeted-on a page-by-page basis-to the content that people find on your site. For example, if you have a page that tells the story of your pet fish, Google will send you ads for that site that are for pet stores, fish food, fish bowls, aquariums...you get the picture. If you decide you want to add a Google search box to your site, then AdSense will deliver relevant ads targeted to the Google search results pages that your visitors' search request generated. If you're into upgrades, Google is now offering "AdSense Premium", which is CPC based and, for the time being, offers less flexibility in terms of ad sizes -- only banners and skyscrapers are currently available.

You can apply using existing AdWords accounts, or you can request a new account. Applicants are usually notified within a day as to whether they've been accepted for the program. To know more about it .Here's the thing you need to know: Google has no strict criteria for acceptance into the AdSense program, and Ad Sense doesn't hit you with a minimum traffic requirement.

It is an ideal win situation. And these site owners would not keep AdSense on their sites, if they were useless or if they would produce only minimal amount of money. They are professional people.

There are two things, which are important in the AdSense business: place ads on your website pages, which get high traffic for high demand keywords. The earnings formula per keyword is clear: the higher the cost per click for the advertiser the higher is your earnings. And the more traffic the page gets, the more clicks it will mean. There is no reason to target low cost per click keywords and place them on your home business website.

It is important to note that this home business income strategy does not pay anything for the clicker or for the business owner. It is a real win-win-win, because also Google will make money. The advertiser is the source of money, but he will get viewers to his ads.

You as a webmaster can decide, how big role you will give to AdSense business, because it will have bigger or smaller effect on the sales of your other products and also on the visit experience of the visitors. If you want to maximize the AdSense income, you have to test different places and ad formats. It can take some time but is worth that.

One especially important feature is to filter out even 200 burls, which give a home business owner the opportunity to block the low value offers and the direct competitors from his pages. This opportunity to make these choices will dramatically increase the revenue.

If you as a home business owner take AdSense business seriously, you will plan the keyword usage according to the AdSense income. With Google Adsense, the possibilities are really great for to home business owner. You can visit us at www.thegoogleincome.com. Yet there is also the possibility of someone taking advantage of the easy money process that AdSense is doing. If you think more about it, these negative factors may force Google to break down and thrash Google Adsense in the process. If that happens, people would have to go back to the old ways of internet home business that does not make money online as easy as Google Adsense.

For now, however, Google Adsense is online and doing fine. As long as there are people wanting to make some easy money online just using their talents, the future ahead is looking good. Think about it!

Placing the Google Adsense ad in the right spot of the page is crucial to how much money you will make. It is very important that you place the ad above the fold (at the top of the page) on your website in order to get the most clicks. It is called a high click through rate.

What this means is that you will want to place the ad high enough on the page so that your visitors do not have to scroll down to see the Google ad.

By placing the Google Adsense ad above the fold, there is a greater chance that people will click on the ad. The reason for this is because the majority of your visitors will not scroll down the page and look at it. A lot of the time, people look over the top part of the page without worrying about scrolling down. If you place the ad higher, you have a better chance to get clicks from your visitors.

The way you blend the ad with the rest of your page can determine if the ad is visually appealing or not. It is very important to make the Google Adsense ads look like your site and not another ad. You can do this by making the font and color of the ad's text similar to the rest of the page. I also recommend that you blend the background of the ad with the background of your page. It should basically have the same color. For more information login to www.googleadsense-empire.com. Google gives you the option to go into your account and customize your ads in different fonts and colors. This will help you blend the ad to your site. Make sure that you don't use the banner ads on your site because this will decrease your click through rate.

Placing banners and picture ads on your site may seem more appealing and much more professional, but this will make people avoid those ads and look for something else on your site or worse, they may leave and never come back.

Doing the above recommendation can make the difference between success and failure with Google Adsense. If you sit down and do all of these suggestions that are listed above and generate a good amount of traffic to your website, having success with Google Adsense should not be and will not be a big problem for you.

There are hundreds of thousands of web templates out there, but not all of them make for good Adsense templates. As the popularity of Google's Adsense program grew, many web designers started creating templates that allow for easy contextual ad integration. Making money online is now a possibility and you can win cash in no time with Adsense, once your business is set up. And there's really not a lot that you need to work from home using Adsense. Here are a few tips you should consider when purchasing an Adsense website template:

    * The best Google Adsense templates are the simple ones. Forget Flash animations and complex menus and go for clear structures and logical link placements.
    * Don't choose flashy graphics and don't use a lot of photographs, as these divert the visitor's attention from the ads.
    * The best places to ad your contextual ads are the top of the site, below the banner, the left side menu and the center of the site. Your chosen Google Adsense template should allow for easy ad integration in these areas.
    * Personalize your Adsense templates if you wish, but this is not going to make you more online cash. The best way to increase your Adsense revenue is to experiment with ad placement and colors until you see the best CTRs.
    * You may think that, out of all work from home jobs and online job opportunities, Google Adsense is the less complicated one - true, but only after you manage to understand all the subtleties behind the system. This is why you should go with a Google Adsense template that plays by the rules and is not too complex or extravagant - you can develop funkier sites in the future, but for now stick with a simple hierarchy and logical structure.

    Adsense ready website information

Purchasing an Adsense ready website is a good idea, especially if you don't know much about web development, but there are a few things to take care of. There are basically two types of Adsense ready websites - the duplicate content websites which get sold over and over and custom-made, original Adsense ready websites. Let's have a look at both of them:

Recycled Google Adsense ready website - let's call them recycled because they get used over and over and over. You can purchase 10, 50 or 150 websites, each with hundreds of pages, for less than $100! Of course, these websites get sold, in their exact same form, to hundreds or thousands of other people. While these Google Adsense ready website offers are great because they offer a good structure and are designed to allow for easy and efficient contextual ad integration, they also rank lower in the search engine results.

This is because they have duplicate content - hundreds of people have the same site as you, only hosted on a different server and under a different domain name. However, what you loose in search engine rankings you make up in structure and content quality. And with a few dozen Google Adsense ready websites like these, you only need to handle some high quality link exchanges, or get visitors on your sites through the other program offered by Google to advertisers - Adwords.

Unique content Adsense ready websites are the other option. You will most likely pay a few hundred dollars for a unique website with 15-25 pages of original content. Instead of a hundred duplicate content websites you will have just one original website.

It's hard to say which option will allow you to earn more from your online business, but it's clear that your unique content website will outrank duplicate content in the search engines. An original Adsense ready website offers a more stable income level, and you can grow it into a top ranking site in time. Your online earning will depend on numerous factors, but one thing is for sure - the search engines will love your site for bringing new content to the Internet and will reward you by ranking it higher.

There are times Google's heralded ad affiliate program isn't in your long term business interest. Oh no I said it!

AdSense isn't the unstoppable revenue engine for every eBusiness. Before I am taken out and flogged by the eCommerce pundits -- please let me explain what I mean in my defense.

I make revenues from AdSense at a very high click-through rate. I experience high click-through rates with AdSense without resorting to questionable tactics like tricking site users with photos (the AdSense trick and tip dujour).

So my perspective is from one who has made decent income from AdSense to fund aspects of his business like advertising seminars -- and outsourcing to his virtual assistants. Yes, AdSense is a legitimate and significant revenue source. However evaluate AdSense with some type of balance.

By now you may have heard about people like 6 figure income with AdSense, or Jason Calacanis of Weblogs being on his way to generating 1 million dollars in AdSense revenue. Google's Ad revenue sharing affiliate program for publishers certainly seems to be an eSales Nirvana for many webmasters.

But there are obvious and not so obvious times not to use AdSense ads on your sites. Let's list - examine - and explain them below.

    1. On Sales or Mini-sites

This is a no-brainer. If you are trying to sell a particular product that is important to your bottomline, you don't want AdSense ads distracting your customers from either joining your email list, or hindering your site's online sales process.

However I do see hybrid sites that are mini-sites or full scale eCommerce sites, with AdSense at the bottom of their pages. This might not be so bad since only 1% - 15% of your site visitors will either buy from you or fill out a form.

The thinking with this approach is you might as well make money from disinterested parties using up your server's bandwidth.

    2. SEO Business Sites

If your livelihood depends on search engine optimization or marketing for a living you might want to think twice about displaying AdSense Ads on your site. I can tell you this from personal experience. I once was on top of MSN for search engine marketing in my local area. I concentrated on my local area because I found people felt more comfortable hiring an eCommerce consultant locally.

One day my site fails totally out of the MSN index. After intense study I noticed that I obviously had a filter on my site from MSN.

I analyzed all the top ranking sites in MSN and noticed the only difference between me and the other top ranking sites was I had Google AdSense ads on my site. Someone at MSN felt that my AdSense ads, and perhaps to a less extent, my book on SEO, was getting a free ride in the MSN search engine database.

In fact I noticed that there were no sites with AdSense ads for at least the first 3 pages. Plus the sites with AdSense were only using 1 ad unit at the bottom of the home page (there were very few of them in the top 5 pages).

I knew it was strange to not have AdSense ads on the top Internet marketing sites. This prompted me to scan other industries where I noticed the same trend.

Many of the leading SEO gurus have sites that have been banned from the top listings by the search engines. It seems the more visible you become, the more of a target your sites are to the search engine auditors.

Some of my sites are still on the top of MSN with AdSense ads but that doesn't mean they won't also be targets in the future.

Let's face the facts. MSN and Yahoo! have competing ad networks to Google's, and this competitive situation is rife for a potential backlash against SEO sites with AdSense ads.

Many SEOs will point to exceptions to this position. However you have been warned!

Think about it, how long will MSN and Yahoo! sit back and watch SEO driven websites use their search indexes to fund Google? Did you know SEO in MSN and Yahoo(!) --- is much easier to obtain.

Therefore optimized sites are creating an ad sales wealth transfer from MSN and Yahoo into the pockets of Google! It won't be long before Yahoo! and MSN begin to devalue ranking on AdSense sites in their databases -- if not outright ban them.

If you are in the search engine business stay search engine neutral, or create multiple sites for different search engines.

    3. When AdSense Becomes Your Only Business Model

When you become so myopic in your thinking that you build a business solely on AdSense revenue -- think again my friend. Why build a business solely on the largess of Google?

I don't know if your realize it or not, but the sites making the real big AdSense money usually have a following that doesn't depend on the search engines. Internet mavens like Chris Pirillo or Joel Comm have been on the Internet a while and have followings for their websites. Therefore they can consistently make six figures with AdSense.

These content powerhouses are an asset to Google and not the other way around. But do you think Google is going to sit back and watch just anybody make big bucks off of their top rankings?

If you do a search on most keywords you will notice many of the top ranking sites are news sites, .gov sites, or .org sites these days. The only exception is in industries where these sites don't really exist like eCommerce industries (clothing, shopping, etc.).

No doubt in most industries you will notice a conspicuous scarity of AdSense sites in the top rankings. In other words don't bet your future fortunes on AdSense.

An IPO based on projections of AdSense revenue isn't in the future for the average eBusiness. Think of Google AdSense as supplemental income. Building a business solely on AdSense revenue isn't just silly -- it's just plain stupid.

Adsense sites need planning and work to be successful. If you are thinking of producing sites for adsense income, or perhaps you already have sites that are not producing a good income if any.

To be successful, takes a lot of work no matter what you may read because there are so many people promoting products that promise to make adsense income easy.

Well some of these products may help, but there is no simple solution to receiving great income quickly.

Extensive planning is required before you start. It is important to carefully consider the topics or niches that will be targeted. It is very important to see what type of competition there is for certain niches.

If you are beginning with your adsense sites, it is better to start with niches that are not too competitive. The reasons for this are that in any niche it will take time to get traffic to the sites and make money.

Extensive keyword research must be carried out before building new sites. It is far better to target say 20 keywords that are not at the top of the keyword results.

Many newcomers make the mistake of seeing the high prices that certain words achieve, but do not realize what is involved to compete with these words.

So choose 20 related words to the main keyword, and then build a page for each of these sub keywords. It is very important to have closely themed sites as well, meaning that you are not trying to offer information on a variety of subjects.

Search engines are now looking for sites that offer their visitors good quality information following the keyword searches entered.

It is also important to have sites that are easy to navigate, so that visitors are able to find what they are looking for easily. Clear navigation linking is essential.

Another point to remember is that search engines will reward sites that are constantly updated with new content. It is best to work to a plan with new sites that allow new content to be added on a weekly basis.

Incoming links to sites are very important to achieve good rankings in the search engines. There is only so much on site optimization that can be done. This includes different keywords and descriptions for each page, use of H1, H2, H3 tags etc.

It is essential that good quality original content is offered to visitors. Due to the abuse that occurred in the past where many people were using various software to produce hundreds of pages of worthless content in literally a matter of minutes to try to make money with adsense.

It is a good idea to work on getting links back to sites on a weekly basis also. Another good idea is to register with directories also on a regular basis.

Adsense can be a good source of income, but it involves a lot of work before the results appear. Extensive research must be carried out to check competition. It is vital to do thorough keyword testing. Then produce sites that are closely themed with a separate page for each targeted keyword. Then new content and links must be on the agenda for good adsense results.

Here are a few basics of what this broad subject has to offer up to any individual who wants to know more about it.

How can You Make Money with Google Ad Sense?

Most marketing experts use Google to advertise their ads for prospective customers to see. This is often a very operative means of making money. The Google AdSense is one of Google's encodes which allows you to swarm a number of pay-per-click ads on the web-position you own. How you earn money

Going through the final part of this article, we will see just how important the subject can be too many people.

When you advertise Google ads on your position, you may expect to have a better fate of generating your revenue. How does Google do it? Google sales important ads and allows countless advertisers to compete acquires each other for the show of their ads. When the sale is over, Google AdSense immediately advertises the ads that will have the most promising utmost revenue for a given web page, hence allowing the web position possessor to breed utmost wages.

Fusion the AdSense encode is justly tranquil. You'll be mandatory to seal up the application form afforded for you. Ads will immediately show on those web pages and visitors can acquire clicking them.

    Other skin of Google AdSense

With Google AdSense, ads that may afford relevance and connection to the subject of your web pages are automatically delivered. Furthermore, it lets you amend the look of your ads to equal your positions complete appearance and make. It allows you to scheme your own custom palettes with its highlight mixture tool which is by the way, very cool to use.

How to breed utmost online wages

The key to generating utmost revenue with Google AdSense is to safeguard the performance of your ads often. Make use of online reports which are vacant online. They proffer important facts such as the number of clicks your position holds, number of delivered page impressions, and the charge of clicks. You can also stain the trends of how to raise your revenue hence providing you what style of subject your position should afford. It is very important to rise the transfer of your position continually so your ads acquire more number of clicks. The style of subject you want to advertise on your position should enclose what people find this reality.

No matter which way you look at it, having a firm understanding of this topic will benefit you, even if it is just slightly.

Once you have decided to take your marketing campaign to Google's AdSense pay per click program, you agree to a number of rules including:

    • No hidden pages. You must have a clear hierarchy and each page needs at least one link to get there.
    • No broken links. If you link outside of your site, make sure you check your links often. No more than 100 links per page.
    • When designing your site, create one that is helpful to a user; don't design a page for search engines. Make sure you clearly define what your site is about.
    • Your TITLE and ALT tags should be precise and descriptive.
    • You need a site map to help users find what they are looking for if your menu doesn't.
    • No hidden text.
    • No redirection of your site

Even if you follow all these design rules, you may still be at risk of losing your AdSense advertiser account or have temporarily been fined a penalty in the form of your ads being removed from rotation on other sites. The penalty may go away with time, but it's best to double and triple check your site then file a re-inclusion request (instructions below.) Include in your request which changes you've made and that it won't happen again.

Your competitors might have a plan that could get you banned. It's called "click bombing" and it's against Google's policy.

Click bombing happens when someone, be it a competitor or not, repeatedly clicks the pay per click ad for a business in order to raise flags with Google. Google rates their ads based on relevance, so the more an ad is clicked, the more relevant it becomes, and the higher up the list it moves. This has made it very easy for business owners to move themselves up the relevance list, so Google countered this practice by red flagging any business that has a significant spike in AdSense hits. If the hits all trace back to the same IP address or addresses, the advertiser is removed for "invalid clicks".

Finding out about this strength in Google's search engine, sneaky competitors have started to exploit it by purposely clicking the competitions ad again and again, in order to ban the ad.

If this has happened to you, or if you've been banned for violation of any of the design or technological terms of your contract, you can sometimes have it overturned by contacting customer support.

It is imperative, though, that you run reports frequently and store the data outside of your Google account. This will help prove to Google that a click bombing happened should you be removed. You are not guaranteed a reversal, however. In fact, most pleas to Google to have a banned account go unheard.

If you don't get a positive response from Google, you may want to check out some of the other pay per click programs, like Yahoo! Publisher Network or the many affiliate programs online.

There are many ideas springing up concerning what AdSense will look like in the future and how the system will change as opposed to what it is now.

First of all, it is clear that targeting algorithms will become even better and more powerful then they are now. This has clearly been seen with the Google search engine itself over the last few years and it should be of no surprise as this happens with AdSense. Advertisers will appear in more appropriate results and those advertisers who manipulate their content to allow high paying keywords to appear may struggle to do this unless it is actually appropriate to their content.

Another thing which is bound to happen is more protection for AdWords advertisers concerning click fraud. Google acknowledges this to be a very key issue that it needs to address as quickly as possible and there is no doubt it will happen as fast as possible. At the moment those who have high levels of traffic, can easily disguise IP addresses and increase CTR ( Click Through Rate).

Google is always keen on improving its products and this has been seen before in AdSense. The search engine company has introduced site-targeted AdSense CPM, "smart pricing" and domain blocking and there will probably be improvements that have already been added by other similar sites.

One such example is the option for the advertiser to have more control over where the content is being displayed. This could mean blocking your site from displaying on several addresses that host AdSense banners.

Another idea that has been advanced is that Google will integrate AdSense in other forms of media like newspapers or television and so on. While this might seem to be more on the science-fiction side of the facts there's no indication that this might not happen.

Google have access to an international array of over 150,000 advertisers of whom may choose to penetrate offline markets in different countries. Google has a strong network of advertisers and they may choose to appoint or allow offline distributors to create a format for Adwords advertising in content, in search and now offline.

More options could be implemented for AdSense publishers, allowing them to specify keywords of their own. While Google has been reluctant of this there is no indication that this will not happen in the future.

Also, many people are demanding a clear specification of the pricing policy of AdSense. Google has given no indication of why this is not public information but at this moment it seems highly unlikely that such information will ever be present on Google AdSense.

Another feature that could find itself into AdSense would be letting website publishers see which links are generating clicks on their website and based on what keywords they arrive there.

This could end up being a major issue that could threaten the entire system as it could perhaps encourage more adsense only websites as profits become more transparent. Many people may make AdSense only sites, designed just for making profits through AdSense.

While this is already happening today, it might be foolish of Google to put such tools in the hands of its publishers.

However, one thing that could happen is a way for users to fix their issues with low AdSense generated income on their site. This could be done through an on-line wizard or something similar that would make suggestions to website owners based on their contents.

But the major buzz word of the day is RSS. The possibility of sending targeted ads directly to users without requiring any navigation on their behalf is becoming a reality with RSS. And there are clear signs that Google isn't going to let such an opportunity pass by.

This is what "interactive television" and similar items have been trying to do for quite some time now. But the Internet would be a much better medium for this, because there are no mediums quite as interactive as the Internet.

But in the end, this is mostly speculation and we are bound to have Google surprising us with new features we would have never thought of.

You need to have optimized niche website templates for best results. You may find the best adsense templates and blog templates at Adsense. (They are offering 100 fresh new templates every month.

Any web site owner or webmaster who is trying to earn a profit from their sites are likely familiar with Google Adsense.

Google Adsense is a great and easy way to make money from your site if it is done right. Adsense will allow any person with a blog or an informative site to earn money, simply by placing a little code on their site pages. Rather than trying to figure out exactly what ads to put on their web pages, Adsense gives web site owners the ability to concentrate on their sites content.

Many webmasters are able to make a living from Adsense, however, there are also quite a few who spend all their time just trying to figure out the "magic trick" used to earn from Google Adsense. Earning a living from Google Adsense ads, can seem difficult, but it's not impossible.

If Google Adsense is going to be your only source of income, you will want to do more than just taking some Adsense code and placing it on your site. That is just not enough; you will need to do some experimenting, with placements, formats and choice of keywords.

You really should take care to build your page around a specific topic or keyword that is relevant to your site concept. This will ensure that any Adsense ads which are placed on this page are appropriate and useful to any visitors who want to know more about the topic and they will more than likely end up clicking on the Adsense ad.

You will want to take care where you place your ads. It has been proven that visitors often first look to the top left of a website when they arrive. Because this is were your visitors attention is likely to first, it is going to be one place where you might want to consider placing some ads. You can read the Google help on the Adsense website to learn more about the best locations for placing your adverts.

Another consideration when placing your ads, is to put them on high traffic pages. You can identify the pages visited most on your site by taking a look at your logs or your Google account, where you will get the page-by-page details of your visitors.

Although the skyscraper and banner ads may look good on your site, you may want to avoid using them. Often times, banners are ignored. For example, have you clicked on any banners of sites that you have visited lately?

You will want to blend your Adsense ads into your web page by using the Adsense formats. Google supplies a variety of palettes allowing you to change font colors, borders and backgrounds. There really isn't much point in putting an ad on a page if it doesn't blend with your site.

A very important resource that many webmasters ignore is the Adsense preview tool. This tool will allow you to preview the ads that will go on each of your pages and gives you sample ads and formats. Here is where the destination of your ads can be checked, as well as, geo targeted locations.

Remain focused on what it is that you want to achieve. However busy you may be, you must take some time and experiment with your Adsense ads so that CTR can improve. No matter what the experts say, just follow the basics, that's the real magic to making more from Gooogle Adsense.

Any web site owner or webmaster who is trying to earn a profit from their sites is likely familiar with Google Adsense.

Many webmasters are able to make a living from Adsense; however, there are also quite a few who spend all their time just trying to figure out the "magic trick" used to earn from Google Adsense. Earning a living from Google Adsense ads can seem difficult, but it's not impossible.

Another consideration when placing your ads is to put them on high traffic pages.

Don't you think it is fascinating that with so many Adsense publishers, all setting up hundreds of sites, they have absolutely no idea who their clients are? The first rule of setting up and maintaining a successful business is thorough knowledge of your client.

Let's flip the coin and look at it from another angle. Google does not pay you for clicks on your site; the Adwords advertiser is forking out the money for your checks. The reason why he advertises is to sell a product or service or to drive people to his site for a subscription or whatever reason. He is doing it to gain a business advantage.

The question here is: Are you giving him an advantage or are you just costing him money?

You have heard "˜Adsense is dead' or "˜there is not so much money to be made from Adsense as in the past'. Most Adsense publishers think they have to set up a few more sites which will make up for the lost income. Dead wrong.

The reason for the downward spiral in Adsense income originates from untargeted ads on web pages. Most people would love to place the blame at the doorstep of Google, but this is not the case. The problem lies with the publishing of thousands of websites solely intended to get clicks, thus optimized for the search engine and not giving a second thought to the advertiser from Adwords.

The result from the misuse of Adsense is obvious. In most of the current Adwords information products one of the first warnings you are given when placing adwords ads is to remove the link to advertise on the content network. The reason is simple; the ads appear on untargeted pages leading to untargeted customers. This is a waste of the advertiser's money and a direct loss of income for the Adsense publisher. All the serious Adwords advertisers are not advertising on the content network, which in turn leads to less competition. The cost per click on a content page is far less that the cost on a generic page search.

Adwords and Adsense will never die and is and will remain one of the top income earners for many internet marketers.

So what now? The answer lies in improved sites with quality content. Play with the search engine not against it. If you want to compete with a search engine start your own. Not impossible, Google did it and succeeded.

So what exactly is improved content?

The keywords you are optimizing for should relate to your web content and add value for the visitor. This does not mean you have to write one thousand word pages all on your own. One to two hundred words per page will be fine as long as it answers the question or part of the question that the visitor was searching for with the search term. From there on the page can lead to Adsense ads and a click on the link will be a targeted visitor for the advertiser.

You also do not need to write each page yourself, you can still use PLR content and articles for your sites just make sure that the main question that the visitor would have when searching for that term is answered and lead them further to more specific information through Adsense ads.

Can you imagine the joy on your face when receiving a five figure check from Adsense, and think of the joy you would place on the face of the Adwords advertiser also receiving a five figure payday?

Once you have your site set up correctly there are a few elements that you need to give attention to. The truth about Adsense placement is that there is a trick to it. For high CTR your ad placement must be highly optimized.

I have seen this myself in testing different Adsense placement methods. One placement for all does not work. On certain pages it would be higher up and on others it would be lower down.

It is all dependent on the content of the page and the question you should ask yourself is at which point in the content is the visitor the most likely to want more specific information. If you write your content yourself you should write it in such a way that you give information and then raise curiosity, and it is at that point where your ad should appear for the first time. By utilizing this method and keeping your content targeted you will receive many clicks and your Adwords advertiser will receive the targeted visitors he wants.

Are you beginning to see how important it is to get the content and your ads right Now, let me ask you this: Are you one of the Adsense publishers who are costing advertiser's money or are you one that actually help make advertisers money?

For many people, Google's Adsense publishing program is responsible for their very first taste of an online income. It may be pennies and cents but that first time you look in your account and see a credit is an exciting moment; the possibilities suddenly open up before you as you finally realize that all those stories of online businesses and internet income are based on truth. It is possible for anyone to earn money online. Yes, it is just pennies and cents, and it is sporadic if you aren't systematic about your website or your business; but it is, at least, a taste of success which becomes sweeter as time passes and more pennies and cents slowly trickle into your account. Since Google took over the developer blog network 'Blogger', even more people have experienced this first light at the end of the tunnel. It is easy to go and create an account and within a few short minutes have Google Adsense advertisements appearing on your blog and ready to pay you.

The opportunities on the internet for an income are huge, and Google Adsense is only one of them but, it is such a simple program, easy to join and set up, with a simple payment scheme, that for a beginner or advanced player it is difficult to ignore. What many don't realize is that the small text adverts, which look like ordinary classified ads, which appear on countless web pages and display the words "ads by Google" below them are at the root of the Google company's billions of dollars of profit each year. Yes, Google has expanded in many directions and draws a profit from many different enterprises; but it is from these seemingly innocent advertisements that their initial massive success came, and it is from these advertisements that their continued profits derive. The system whereby these adverts are created and displayed is one which has the bare minimum of administration by Google, and runs almost like a "self service" launderette for advertisers and publishers. It was a unique idea when it first began, and while Google isn't the only user of this technique, it is certainly the most successful user.

In the old days of internet advertising, advertisements would appear on websites in much the same way as they would appear in magazines and other print media. A website owner, known as a publisher would display an advertisement and, depending upon the popularity of the website, he or she would get paid a publishing fee by the advertiser. This is the traditional model of advertising from the off-line print and publishing world. The problem with this model for web pages, though, is that it's difficult to track. There was no way of knowing precisely how many people saw the advert, or how effective it was. Advertisers love to link advertising revenue with sales and there was no way of making that link conclusively. A website may go in and out of popularity far quicker than a magazine might, and a website owner with an eye on profits might fill up his pages with adverts thereby destroying the effectiveness of each again, something which a popular magazine would be unlikely to do. This meant that the price paid for placing an advertisement was never a clear cut deal - unlike magazines and newspapers whose advertisement sizes and positions had been established over decades and advertisers lacked confidence in the new medium overall.

The answer to all these problems came in the shape of PPC, or Pay Per Click, advertising. The essence of Pay Per Click is that an advertiser only pays a publisher when their advertisement is clicked on by a visitor. This means that it doesn't matter how often an advert appears on a website, and it doesn't matter how big or small it is, if no one clicks on it then the advertiser doesn't pay. This system is at the heart of Google's Adsense program - all those small text ads, and many others besides, are representative of this system. Each time one of those little ads is clicked on, the advertiser pays the website that displays it. But that's not all the engine behind the Adsense adverts is Google Adwords. The Google Adwords program is the other side of Adsense. If Adsense is the publisher's side of advertising, then Adwords is the advertiser's side. When a business, service, or anyone in fact wants to advertise themselves, their product or service, they go to Google Adwords. It is almost as simple a procedure as Adsense. Traditionally, to advertise in a magazine, newspaper or periodical of any kind it was necessary to book space in advance, pay a designer to design your advert, pay a copywriter to write your advert, have the artwork created, pay in advance and submit by the deadline for your issue. You would need to negotiate with a sales department and sign agreements. Good rates were based on good working relationships and regular custom; Adwords broke through all that. When an advertiser joins Google Adwords, he simply keys in the target keywords for his ad, writes the few short lines of text to appear in the ad, and then decides how much he want to pay.

The ad will appear on Google's search engine results pages whenever the target keyword is searched upon, and will also appear on any websites targeting the keyword, which are displaying Google Adsense adverts. The rate of the advertiser's fee is based purely upon the popularity of the keywords he has chosen to target the more popular a keyword is, then the more advertisers will be targeting it; and the more costly it is when someone clicks on an ad. In fact, the whole process is automated those who set a higher budget for their ads will have their ads appear in the prime positions but will also pay the most when their ads are clicked on. In effect, "the market" decides the price. While it is true that those with the bigger budgets will get the better ad placements - that is nothing new in advertising. What is new is that anyone can place an ad on any budget they choose. For less popular keywords you can pay mere pennies and cents for an advertising campaign. The income of Adsense publishers is directly in proportion to the payments of the advertisers; if you have a website displaying Adsense adverts and your website is targeting popular keywords then those higher paying advertiser's fees will be coming to you.

Do you really want your website on page one of Google for your chosen keyword phrase(s)? What do you want your online marketing campaign to accomplish for you?

I asked a potential new SEO Coaching client last week this question. From my end of the phone call, it sounded as if he almost fell out of his chair!

I followed up by asking him if he could ever think of ANY reason for his website pages NOT to be found on page 1 in the Google SERPs (search engine results pages).

How 'bout you? Can you think of any reasons you'd NOT want your pages to be found for your targeted keyword phrases on page 1?

Keep in mind, I'm talking about your chosen keyword search phrases.

I can think of at least 3 reasons. Maybe you can come up with some of your own.

    Is there Commercial Intent?

Let's say you have not just a page 1 Google result, but you're actually the first result. Here is an important question for you to ask yourself.

What is the commercial intent of this keyword phrase? Do the words contained in the keyword phrase give any indication of someone getting ready to spend money on a product or service like you offer?

For instance, compare these keyword phrases: Keyword Research, Keyword Research Specialist and Keyword Research Consultant. The latter 2 phrases give an indication of someone who is getting ready to spend money.

You can also Google the Microsoft Commercial Intent Tool and consider its' results when evaluating your keyword search phrase choices.

If you are targeting a keyword phrase that has questionable commercial intention at best, is there any reason to really be found on page 1? Wouldn't it be better to target more appropriate phrases instead?

If there's no commercial intent, how does that help your online marketing?

Can you see where I'm going?

    How Much Traffic Really Matters

Now, I'm giving you a choice: you can have a first page result (with commercial intent) and your position number is 4.

Your other choice is a different keyword search phrase with a second page result, position number 12, also with commercial intent.

    So, the choice is obvious?

Well, I forgot to give you the rest of the details.

The first page choice has monthly search queries for its' phrase of 3,240.

The second page result choice has monthly search queries for its' phrase of 22,167.

Do you still believe that the best choice in this example is the first page result?

According to numbers from Aaron Wall's site, approximately 6% of search users will click on that number 4 result in Google. That's 194 visitors in a month.

This is figuring average title and description tags of typical online marketing ability to convert to a click. "Your mileage may vary."

And for that second choice, the second page result? Over 1% should click on the search result, but let's use just 1%. That's 222 visitors per month.

Last time I checked, 222 is more than 194, so the second page result trumps the first page result, because the second page result has much more traffic than can convert to a transaction.

How Many Google AdWords Ads Show for your Chosen Keyword?

If you don't see many AdWords ads, this should be a warning!

One of 2 problems exist (or both):

    1. There isn't enough traffic for AdWords advertisers to target the phrase.

    2. There isn't commercial viability for the phrase.

Either way, is a first page result going to help you? Probably not.

The Value of a Committed Searcher

Want a recipe to waste your time (or your employees')?

Get a first page result in Google for your keyword search phrase and place your toll-free phone number in big numbers on the top right of each of your Web pages.

People clicking the first result in the SERPs are often less serious than those who go through the first few results or who continue searching onto the second page.

There may be something to be said for avoiding people who almost randomly click the first result and who may have impulse control "issues".

Now, if you have a large staff to answer your incoming phone calls AND if your conversion rate from those calls is strong, then the potential problem I described probably isn't a problem for your business.

On the other hand, if you are a solo professional, this strategy can be hazardous!

How are you going to perform your paid work when you get "Internet lookiloos" asking you questions they could get answered, if they would simply read a few words on your website?

Are these the best potential clients for your services or products and the best use of your time?

A second page result could bring you more serious potential customers, people who might be more likely to actually READ your website content, understand your products or services better and who might be more likely to convert to a transaction.

It's sure something to think about. :-)

Don't get me wrong. I'm not against first page rankings for your online marketing. I'm just for thinking a little further down the road than JUST first page rankings.
